01 - The Night Everything Broke

01 - [PART 1 ACT I - THE SHATTERING]

The moment everything changed. Calen and Nova were living a quiet life in the Iron Warrens—Hollowtown's industrial heart—when the Hollow Core overloaded. Reality fractured. The Veil tore open in a catastrophic rupture of silver light. Thousands vanished in an instant. Nova was one of them. Calen watched helplessly as she was ripped from his arms and pulled into the blinding glow. He reached for her. Their fingers slipped apart. And then she was gone—swallowed by the dimensional breach that would come to be known as The Night of Shattering. This is Calen's perspective of that night. The chaos. The terror. The exact moment his world ended. Sirens scream. Reality bleeds. The air splits open. And in the midst of catastrophic destruction, one man loses the only person who ever mattered. "The Night Everything Broke" is the opening track of Vortex of Anguish; the beginning of Calen's desperate journey to find Nova across the Veil, no matter the cost.
