03. Cthulhu Wakes
By Unlife · Metal · From the album The Ancient Ones
Into the deep
Before the dawn
Cthulhu wakes beneath the stone
Rising up from dreams alone
Old gods stir in buried deep
All the waking world will sleep
The fisherman spoke of a night
When fog rolled in without a wind
The harbor bells rang out of fright
And something vast had crawled and grinned
I saw the glyph upon his chest
A scar that moved against the skin
He whispered names that left no rest
And swore the deep was closing in
My blood turned cold my mind turned grey
The dead moon watches far away
And I am called
And I am drawn
Into the deep
Before the dawn
Cthulhu wakes beneath the stone
Rising up from dreams alone
Old gods stir in buried deep
All the waking world will sleep
Cold tides pull beneath the pier
Salt and rot and endless years
I dreamed a shape that had no name
A city sunk beyond all blame
Fog rolls in like breath on glass
I see its shadow in the pass
The harbor lights all flicker out
The bell rings low there is no doubt
And I am called
And I am drawn
Into the deep
Before the dawn
Cthulhu wakes beneath the stone
Rising up from dreams alone
Old gods stir in buried deep
All the waking world will sleep
The moon went red the water black
The stars rearranged for its call
There is no turning pointing back
When R'lyeh answers to the fall
And I am bound
And I am torn
Into the dark
Before the morn
Cthulhu wakes beneath the stone
Rising up from dreams alone
Old gods stir in buried deep
All the waking world will sleep
