"Retort" is pure thrash metal fury—my fastest, most aggressive track at 190 BPM. It's personal in a way that cuts different than some of my other material. This one's about that exact moment when someone pushes you too far and you unleash everything you've been holding back. The concept is simple: words become weapons, and my response is twice as devastating as whatever came at me. Musically, it's relentless—palm-muted riffing, double bass that never lets up, aggressive vocals. The breakdown gives it those dynamic shifts that keep it interesting, but overall it's crushing forward momentum. It's four and a half minutes of sonic warfare that matches the anger perfectly. Sometimes the best defense really is a devastating offense.
