The Plague Doctor
By Crimson Requiem · Symphonic Metal
"The Plague Doctor" is a dark cinematic journey into the heart of a plague-ravaged medieval world — told through the eyes of a physician who entered the streets believing he could fight death, only to discover that some battles cannot be won. Behind the beaked mask, the healer slowly disappears. Vinegar, lavender, blood, ash and prayers become the remnants of a dying civilization. Science struggles against fear, faith against despair, and humanity against an invisible enemy.
Driven by haunting cellos, crushing gothic metal riffs, cinematic orchestration and the contrast between whispered confessions and devastating growls, the song follows a man who begins as a physician and ends as a silent witness to the collapse of his world.
“Behind the beak… we all decay.”
A tale of plague, sacrifice, faith, madness and the unbearable weight of surviving.
