Absent Eden
Absent Eden is an alternative metal band from Waco, Texas, combining melodic metalcore and progressive rhythms with industrial electronics, darkwave textures, and R&B phrasing. Piano, deep sub-bass, and intimate clean vocals give their songs room to breathe before low-tuned guitars and expansive choruses take over.
Their writing explores emotional dependence, rejection, and relationships that become difficult to recognize from the inside. The lyrics stay close to specific conversations and uncomfortable decisions, with narrators who understand their situation but don’t always know how to change it.
On “Touch You,” that approach centers on feeling unwanted by someone who still needs you around. The arrangement follows the tension in the lyrics, building from restrained verses into a brief, heavy outburst before returning to an unresolved ending.
