You Don’t Owe Me
By ⚔️November Mourning⚔️ · Alternative Metal
“You Don’t Owe Me” is a vow to the woman I love: you don’t have to hide what hurts to keep me close.
The song begins with her apologizing for how she feels and turning toward the wall. Everything that follows is my answer. I want her to know she can come to me exhausted, uncertain, or unable to explain what’s wrong. Her hardest nights don’t make her less deserving of tenderness.
The longing here reaches into the ordinary parts of a life together: her laughter, her tired voice before the day begins, the mornings we share, and the nights when all she can ask is for me to stay. I want to cherish her through all of it.
That vow asks something of me, too. I can’t promise perfect patience or always knowing what she needs. I can promise to listen, take responsibility for my own fear, and keep showing up without making her pain something she has to apologize for.
Intimate baritone vocals, fragile falsetto, atmospheric electronics, and heavy guitars give that promise its weight. The song grows from a quiet reassurance into the full force of wanting someone to believe they are loved.
You don’t owe me easy.
You’ll never have to earn my love.
