Mythic Compression
I picked up guitar late.. I was 40, took on some formal lessons.. got a bit of foundation underneath my feet.. but immediately spent that time writing original material. I sat and wittled on expressly my material. I didn't play a single cover.. I didn't work power chords.. I work 3 and 4 finger chords or F bar only... I sat and strumed thick saturated mud strum.. as I can hear the full comp from inception.. so playing on solo, in a vacum we all know how thin it can sound.. so I played the material loaded. up down strum in and out strings... I tossed the freaking fret chart in the trash. and mapped from low to high in 3 and 4 note clusters at a time taking years. I sucked at guitar.. never thought I would amount any decent player.. I was in it because I enjoyed the writing.. well turns out.... I'm doing fine.. Im strapping gritty forward guitar over top of all of it.. my voice... damn good.
