Graveyard Depression
Graveyard Depression is a one-man AI music project founded by Thorsten "Thor" Sander. Graveyard Depression tells stories from the fringes of history—of war and homecoming, guilt and loss, plagues, famine, societal collapse, and what human beings inflict upon one another or endure for each other's sake.
The band blends Dark Country, Atmospheric Black Metal, Progressive Metal, and anthemic Power Metal into a dark, cinematic sound. Acoustic guitars, banjo, and fiddle meet massive riffs, orchestral arrangements, cold soundscapes, and haunting vocals.
For Graveyard Depression, darkness is not an end in itself. The lyrics are often rooted in historical events, real-life fates, or handed-down myths, crafted with the utmost care regarding their subject matter. Rather than describing history from a safe distance, the songs give a voice to those involved: soldiers and survivors, outcasts and returnees—sometimes even Death, the Plague, or War itself.
Graveyard Depression glorifies neither violence nor suffering. The songs look to places where simple answers no longer suffice. They tell of guilt without apology, hope without sentimentality, and people who do not emerge unscathed yet press on nonetheless.
Graveyard Depression does not fit into a fixed genre. It is musical storytelling born of ash, memory, and uncomfortable truth.
