Walk You Down
By Derek Bowes · Groove Metal
The idea started with the word psychopomp — the mythological figure that guides souls to the afterlife. I could've gone Anubis or Charon, but that turns into a Wikipedia entry with a beat. Skipped the textbook stuff and wrote it as the entity itself. No scythe, no costume. Just the thing that's been watching you your whole life.
First-person from death's POV — not the killer, just the escort. It knows your name. It's been in the corner since you were in the cradle.
The hook "I walk you down" works two ways — guiding you across, or walking you down like prey. That double edge is what keeps it cold instead of comforting.
Pantera-territory groove. The whole song is about patience. This thing isn't rushing — it's already there. Always was.
