Vertigo

By Derek Bowes · Power Metal

This one came from a place I didn't want to go but had to explore—that terrifying moment when the room starts spinning and you can't stop it. Unlike my other tracks born from heartbreak or anger, this one captures the immediate, visceral experience of your world literally tilting out of control.

I documented what actually happens during these episodes: the walls closing in, the sweat, the eyes darting frantically. That's not poetry—that's real-time documentation set to music.

The song ends in silence with echoing vocals: even when the spinning stops, you know it could return. That's the real horror.

Sometimes the best way to fight vertigo—or anything trying to destroy you—is to document it, own it, and make it into art.
