Gate of Doom

By ARCAIDE Arrangements · Thrash Metal · From the album Arcade Onslaught

(Dark Seal) Gate of Doom is the nineteenth song off Arcade Onslaught, a double album filled with songs with lyrics inspired by old school coin-op arcade games. The song was inspired by the very rare 1990 Data East coin-op arcade game "Dark Seal".

Thank you for listening. I hope you enjoy!

LYRICS:

In the ruins of Etrulia, beneath the pixel sky,

Where the dead still whisper and the cursed never die,

A gate forged in madness, sealed by ancient flame,

Now cracks with thunder—evil calls your name.

Four wanderers awaken, bound by fate and fire,

A knight, a wizard, a bard, a priest of dark desire.

Arcane beasts arise from the arcade’s haunted tomb,

Their sprites corrupted, dancing to their doom.

Gate of Doom!

Where the joystick guides your soul.

Gate of Doom!

Let the quarters take control.

Through crypt and castle, swamp and flame,

You fight not for glory—but to beat the game.

The sorcerer laughs from his throne of bone,

His spells stitched from pixels, his heart overthrown.

He casts illusions—dragons made of static,

His minions glitch and scream, grotesque and cinematic.

You wield your spells, your sword, your wrath,

Through skeleton hordes and demon’s path.

The arcade pulses, alive with dread,

Each level deeper, more undead.

Now the gate stands open, its maw a void,

The sorcerer rises, his power deployed.

You strike with fury, your allies fall,

But death is cheated in this cursed hall.

He splits into shadows, a thousand clones,

You chant the spell in ancient tones.

The screen goes red, the music slows—

Then silence… before the final blows.

Gate of Doom…

Forever sealed in arcade gloom.

Gate of Doom…

Where heroes rise, and darkness blooms.
