Having served in armed conflicts as well as survived several plain attacks I think I do have a right to take a stand for peace and adult conflict resolution.
A declaration against politically driven agendas that fuel conflicts in an age that should reflect enlightenment, not destruction. Entire generations are still sacrificed for financial and strategic gain. We have seen this pattern throughout history, and unless we change how we manage conflicts as a species, we remain bound to repeat the same mistakes endlessly.
From 1989 to the present, the dataset below logs 385,918 armed conflict events — a staggering number for a supposedly civilized era. It is long past time to invest our efforts and resources in something better than violence, and to treat armed force strictly as a last resort for true defense.
