I'd Rather Be a Ghost Than a God
By Zer0blivion · Gothic Doom · From the album Seven Deadly Sins [EP]
Based on my favorite sin, Sloth. The favored sin of the horseman Death. Many heavily underestimate, thinking its just laziness and apathy. But there's a reason why its the "middle child" of the 7 deadly sins. Its a combination of acedia and tristitia, the latter being the embodiment of despair. The sin of doing nothing and in time, become nothing.
The title is my own personal motto, my "cruel humility" so I'm not blinded by hubris.
About Gothic Doom
Gothic Doom blends doom metal's crushing, slow-paced heaviness with dark romantic atmospheres, haunting keyboards, and melancholic themes. Often features the "beauty and the beast" vocal approach—pairing ethereal clean vocals with deep growls—alongside orchestral elements and lyrics exploring love, loss, and existential despair. Think Type O Negative, My Dying Bride, Draconian.
