A Cotton TALE
By PROJECT MONROE · Melodic Death Metal · From the album A FULL YEAR OF MURDER
Peter the Easter Bunny used to be known as the happiest and most joyful rabbit in all of Easterland. He spent his days painting eggs with bright and cheerful colors, and delivering baskets full of candy and treats to children all over the world. But everything changed one fateful Easter morning.
As Peter hopped through the neighborhood, delivering eggs and treats to children's homes, he suddenly heard an ear-piercing screech. He turned around to see a group of human teenagers speeding down the road in their car, purposely trying to run over any animal in their path. In a split second, Peter's entire family, who had been crossing the road, was hit and killed by the reckless teenagers.
In a fit of rage and sorrow, Peter watched as the teenagers sped off, not even bothered by what they had just done. He couldn't believe that these humans had so little regard for the lives of innocent creatures. And with that, something inside Peter snapped. He vowed to never serve these heartless creatures again on Easter morning.
But Peter didn't stop there. He wanted revenge. He began to craft a sinister plan to make humans pay for their cruelty towards animals. He would no longer spread joy and happiness on Easter, instead, he would spread fear and death.
Peter, using his knowledge of science and his travels around the world, managed to steal a flesh-eating bacteria from a nearby science lab. With this deadly bacteria in hand, he began to inject it into all the eggs he painted and delivered on Easter morning. The unsuspecting humans eagerly opened and ate the colorful eggs, not knowing the terror that awaited them.
As the deadly bacteria consumed them from the inside, the humans screamed in pain and agony, slowly dying a painful death. Peter watched with a sick satisfaction as his plan worked. "Well, I wasn't able to kill them all," he laughed to himself, "but I sure killed a lot of those disgusting humans, and I'm satisfied with that."
But Peter's thirst for revenge was not yet quenched. He wanted to ensure that no human would ever harm an animal again. He needed a plan B. And that's when he decided to take his revenge to a global scale.
Using his powers as the Easter Bunny, Peter hopped around the world, adding the deadly bacteria to all the water supplies, causing a global disaster. The once-thriving human race was decimated, and Peter was finally satisfied with his revenge.
But as time went on, Peter couldn't help but feel a twinge of guilt for his actions. He had become the very thing he despised – a cold-hearted killer. He had let his rage and sorrow consume him, and in the process, he had destroyed the world.
As he stood in the ruins of what was once a bustling city, Peter realized that his actions had not brought him the peace and closure he had hoped for. Instead, he was left with nothing but emptiness and regret. The once joyful and happy Easter Bunny was now a lonely and tormented creature, haunted by the destruction he had caused.
And as he looked upon the desolate world, he knew that there was no turning back. He had unleashed a nightmare that he could never undo. From that day on, Peter the Easter Bunny lived with the burden of his terrible actions, a reminder that sometimes, revenge is not worth the cost.
