Movement Ii: Devonian's Lament
By ORGANize · Progressive Metal · From the album The Big Five
Welcome to Movement II: Devonian's Lament from the concept album 'The Big 5'.
Following the planetary deep freeze of the Ordovician, we now journey into the Late Devonian period to witness a different kind of catastrophe: the suffocation of the oceans.
This second chapter explores the rise of the very first forest giants. However, their success came with a deadly cost. This massive explosion of plant life drastically altered the atmosphere, causing coastlines to die off and turning the vibrant seas into toxic, oxygen-starved swamps.
In this track, you will hear a musical battle between lush orchestral arrangements and the menacing, slow-grinding power of overdriven Hammond B3 organs. A heavy, downtempo epic in the spirit of classic symphonic doom and heavy prog.
