Line With No Names
By Mundi Metallum · Modern Metal
The inspiration comes from the Artemis II lunar mission and the conflicts raging across the planet. "Lines with no Names" is about war on Earth. That overwhelming feeling of how small and fragile our world seems against the vastness of space, yet we keep tearing it apart over territory, resources and dominance. Soldiers reduced to nameless figures on the front lines, echoes of history repeating itself and war becoming the daily norm.
Instead of reaching for what the universe has to offer and learning from past mistakes, we're stuck in an endless cycle of fighting for power. Religion, especially in the Middle East, fuels much of it. Honestly, it breaks my heart seeing headlines every single day. Rockets hitting somewhere, drones destroying something...
Cover reflects this contrast: the Moon in the foreground with blank dog tags.
Lyrics:
In the shadows, where the history repeats itself
Echoes of the past, they are back...
Soldiers march with heavy hearts and dog tags
In a world torn apart, where hope departs
Oh, the drums of war,
they call our name!
In the fields of sorrow,
we play this game...
With every tear,
that falls like rain!
We sing a song of peace in this pain
Through the smoke and dust, we dont see the light
Voices of the fallen and whispers through the fight
Memories of laughter, dreams that fade
We are at the hell, that never ends!
So, the drums of war,
they call our name!
In the fields of sorrow,
we play this game...
With every tear,
that falls like rain!
We sing a song of peace in this pain
But in the darkest hour, we find our way,
With courage in our hearts, we’ll seize the day.
For every life that is lost, a lesson learned...
That's all matter at all cost...
So let the banners wave, no more hate and suffering
The war is nothing, we want to live
Battle for part of the territory
Is something we don't need...
Oh, the drums of war,
fight for a power
In the fields of sorrow,
we play this game!
With every tear,
we are just figures
Only lines with no name
