Corpo Seco (The Withered Corpse)
It is about a man who, in life, was extremely cruel—especially toward his own family. In some versions, he mistreated his mother, denied her food, was violent, and showed no compassion at all. Because of this, after death, he was accepted neither in heaven nor in hell.
As punishment, his body does not decompose. It dries out completely, becoming a withered corpse bound to the earth. The curse forces him to wander, usually through forests or isolated regions, haunting the living.
